Mammals: The 1989 World Book Dictionary definition of a Mammal is:

1. any one of a class of animals that are warm-blooded, that have a backbone, that usually have hair, that feed their young with milk from the mother’s breasts. Human beings, horses, cattle, dogs, lions, bats, rats, cats, and whales are mammals.
