Canadian Children's Book Week
November 2007

According to

"Canadian Children's Book Week is the single most important national event celebrating Canadian children's books and the importance of reading. Every November, thousands of children and adults participate in Book Week activities held across the country: in schools, in public libraries, in bookstores, in community centres – wherever there are people who care about children and the books they read."

The theme for 2007 is "The Magic of Books"

Book Week Theme
The Magic of Books | Les livres, c'est magique is the theme of TD Canadian Children's Book Week 2007. The magical works of Canadian authors and illustrators have captured the hearts and minds of children all over the world. The focus of this year’s theme is not only on the literal magical elements found in these stories. We also recognize the marvelous ability of literature to create magical experiences for readers of all ages everywhere. Any book is magical when it opens new worlds, explores new ideas, or sparks the interest to pluck another book off the shelf. This is the kind of magic we are excited to promote through Canadian children’s literature!
